How Did Wyrdo Start?

Four friends who simply love to create decided to combine forces. Incubated in the heart of the underground indie filmmaking scene in post-COVID Los Angeles, Wyrdo has grown to become a community hub of punk rock moviemakers.

As an art-first production company, Wyrdo productions are not afraid to lean into the company's namesake and get weird. In an age of machine-perfect gloss slop, Wyrdo stands out as a company that values the aesthetic of radically human imperfection.

Why Do We Spell “Wyrdo” With a “Y”?

In Old English, the word wyrd means fate and destiny, elements of looking into the future. In that same vein, we refuse to be go-with-the-flow cultural participants. Instead, we choose to look into the future and create our own fate—our own destiny. We choose to create culture.

Why Are We So Up Our Own Ass?

Fair question.

We truly believe in the power of creation, culture, and art. And as a result, we can get kinda lofty about it at times. But if it's any consolation, we don't take ourselves seriously as people, whatsoever.
